Back home after holidays is always hard for everyone. We need to cheer us up … During my experiments with Vitamix power blender I decided to try a classic recipe, I don’t prepare so often, because it’s so strenous to spend 15 minutes to whip the eggs.
There is a restaurant where you can eat a delicious Zabaione. “La Stanga” is located near Belluno, exactly in Sedico, inside the Parco delle Dolomiti Bellunesi, it is an historic and famous location. If you order a Zabaione as dessert, which is prepared at the moment and for at least 4 people (so, if you are the only one at your table to wish it, you have to hope there are at least three other customers in the dining room who have your own desire at the same time), a pastryman walks out from the kitchen, armed with pot and wire whisk, then he beats vigorously and relentlessly the ingredients on the burning fire, in front of the hypnotized eyes of the spectators.
I like Zabaione very much, if I don’t have to cook it. So I tell to myself, why not try? And if I did it? It would be great … So I googled and I have got nothing. I put all the ingredients in my Vitamix glass and waited for the result. Magic has happened. After nine minutes my Zabaione was waiting for me, thick, smooth, smelling. The best I have ever cooked.
3 tablespoons caster sugar
6 tablespoons Marsala wine
Put all the ingredients in the Vitamix, let it work at maximum power for about 9 minutes. You will get a warm and smooth custard, ready to be tasted. If you prefer to eat your Zabaione cold, pour it in a jar with lid and put it in the fridge.
