Rossorubino at Cantina Paltrinieri

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the evening organized by Cantina Paltrinieri, during Rossorubino 2017 event. The charming Alberto Paltrinieri accompanied us on a visit to the cellar, explaining us the peculiarity of the area where their vineyards are located: Cristo of Sorbara, a particular area where the two rivers, Secchia and Panaro, are so close to give unique characteristics to the ground and therefore indirectly to the vineyards. The didactic part is followed by the gastronomic: tasting of the various Lambrusco by Cantina Paltrinieri, led by Onav sommeliers, Leclisse and LaRiserva are my favorites, risotto all’Isola and Lambrusco risotto cooked by the chefs of Risotteria Melotti from Isola della Scala (VR), mortadella Favola filled bread from Salumificio Mec Palmieri and ice cream (I think it was Rice Cake, I also recognized Sassolino flavor … but correct me if I’m wrong) from Gelateria Remondini. All served in the beautiful garden in front of the cellar, large trees, a perfectly cut lawn and tables with vineyard views. An evening really well done.
