Cherry Chocolate Cake

Today I tell you how my Cherry Chocolate Cake was born. Two years ago I was contacted by a famous and important Italian food company, they asked me to send them my original and unpublished recipe, made with one of their products, accompanied by pictures, my biography and my portrait, would have been all published on their blog. Obviously for free, the honor of seeing my cake, my name, and my face on the site should be enough. It took me a week to complete the request. It was the same time of the year, cherries are one of my favorite fruits, so it was almost automatic to choose them as the main ingredient … I worked out the Cherry Chocolate Cake Recipe, took pictures, I sent all the material. Then the silence. My recipe on their site never appeared. Initially I got a little hurt, so much trouble at all … Then I continued my work thinking about it anymore. A few days ago, along the roads near Vignola, I saw a lot of cherry sellers, then I remembered the cake and decided to publish it.


500 gr cherries
150 gr flour
100 gr sugar
55 gr bitter cocoa powder
100 ml sunflower oil
3 whole eggs
Half a glass of milk
1 sachet baking powder

Wash and chop the cherries. In a bowl, whisk the yolks with sugar until pale and fluffy , then add flour, cocoa, yeast, oil and milk and mix well, making sure do not leave lumps. Add beated egg whites. Put the batter in a pan with greaseproof paper, then add the cherries on the surface. Bake into the oven at 175 ° C for 60 minutes.
